This bicycle is very well put together. I’ve owned it for a week and I am thoroughly impressed. The welding is incredibly well done and it’s clear that it was done by hand. Assembling the bicycle was incredibly straight-forward; the seat and handlebars were all that needed attaching. The handling is remarkably intuitive and responsive. I haven’t gone a single day without getting a compliment about the craftsmanship, style and quality of this bicycle. My friend spent $3000 on a Tern bicycle that has a less-powerful motor, lower-capacity battery and half the features of this bicycle.

I received my shipment in a very well packed box that ensured there was no damage to precious cargo within at around 7PM. I took it for a joy-ride around our neighborhood while giggling uncontrollably amid awe-struck onlookers. The very next day, I charged the battery and took my bicycle aboard the commuter rail here in Austin, TX to my office downtown; even on a crowded train, the bicycle’s ability to fold delighted my fellow passengers who were all packed in like sardines. When it was time to go home, I skipped public transportation altogether and rode it 20 miles home. When I arrived, I still had 25% battery life remaining. This may not sound like a big deal but I weigh 230 lbs. and I had about 20 lbs. of cargo in tow. The motor never hesitated and my heart rate never rose above 120. I count that as a major win. Did I mention you can charge your cell phone while riding?!?

These things combined with the safety features (turn signals, headlights, horn) make this purchase a no-brainer. This is not a bicycle; it is a vehicle. It will meaningfully impact the way you get around. You WILL NOT find this level of quality at this price point from ANY other vendor.

I was not provided any compensation for this review, nor was I asked to provide it. Heck, I hardly ever review anything I am happy with but this thing is a value-proposition like none I’ve ever seen.

We purchased a GB500 for me and a GB5 for my wife. They were shipped to a bike shop within 20 mile of our house, where they assembled and did all of the adjustments. I was impressed that the process toke less then 10 days. When I purchased the bikes my biggest concern was the weight, but with the capability to remove the battery I found this not to be a issue. They both fit in the back of my Jeep Limited with room to spare. Also, I’m able to get them in with only folding the handle bars down.

The only problem I had was the bike shop mixed up the battery chargers with the 48v and 36v batteries. So I hooked them up wrong and the 48v would not charge. I call Green Bike product support and they were great in helping me solve the problem. Lucking it did not do any damage.

We have put about 30 miles on the bikes and are very satisfied with there performance. Both bikes have really quick pick up and a pleasure to ride. I would highly recommend these bikes.

    I love this bike
I have a silver GB5-500. I love this bike. I’ve been riding it for a couple of weeks. I will amend this review with detail in another few weeks. However, let me note for now that all in all Iโ€™m very impressed with the build quality, the features, and the value of this bike! Support so far has been excellent as well, helping me deal with some minor issues. Go GreenBike! I highly recommend this bike!

Love the bike so far. Have put about 250 miles on it in about 2 weeks. Primary use is for commuting back and forth from work at about 18 miles round trip. I also have taken it out on the weekends for long ride just to play with my new toy. I can get about 40 miles before I feel I need to charge the thing, however that is with a lot of peddle assist, and coming from a 200lb rider + 20lbs of gear going over hills and fighting wind. I am sure it could go 50 or 60, but I do not risk running out of juice. It was defiantly worth it to get the larger motor and battery. Can keep it around 18 miles and hour the entire way to work, and 20 if I feel motivated. Not bad for a average guy that has not biked in years!

Some of the negatives that I have seen have been pretty minor. The rail that holds the battery kept coming loose. Little bit of red loctite fixed that. The other issue is the handle bars seem to loosen up over time. Not a big deal, but need to check those on a regular basis.

I am hoping to re-post at 1000 miles. So far a great product.

Maximum range misrepresented in listing! ๐Ÿ™‚
The seller LIED about the maximum range! 90 miles? I got over 100! ๐Ÿ™‚ Probably because I only weigh around 100 lbs. Great bike, fast, great for climbing steep hills (I don’t dread them on this thing!), fun to ride, & a much easier form of transportation than riding a regular bike or walking! Best electric bike anywhere! THANKS for making this bike!!

Best spent money of my life!!!
I have been racing BMX bikes for almost 2 decades and I work as a bicycle mechanic. This bike is well built from very durable components. I honestly have never built a complete bike that needed 0 changes or modifications in 20 years, with the exception of the GB500. This bike is a thing of beauty. First off, it is so quiet that my coat blowing in the breeze makes more noise than the motor. Next, I am 5’8″ and 165lbs, this bike will easily take me 35 miles doing 20mph the whole way without ever pedaling once. With pedal assist on level 5, I can ride for nearly 60 miles without ever breaking a sweat or feeling like I am exercising. Using eco mode and pedal assist at level two the distance that can be covered with almost no effort is ridiculous. If you decide to buy one of these awesome bikes, don’t worry at all. It comes 99% assembled and will work like a dream for a long time, the company actually responds quickly to questions and they even include 18month warranties on all the essentials.

This is a wonderful bike, well-made, and sturdy. I read the reviews and watched several YouTube videos before I purchased the bike…it got kudos from many bike riders and particularly those who use this bike as regular transportation. It arrived well packaged and was very easy to take out of the box, remove the packing materials, unfold the bike, and put the handle bars on. The battery was already in place when it arrived and partially charged. It came with a cool cell phone holder and a battery charger. There is a small instruction booklet that was extremely helpful…and a good place to record the bike’s serial number which is on the frame below the handlebars.

I love how you can use the bike in three different modes…pedaling without the motor, pedal assist, and motor only (throttle only). This bike has zip! I was impressed with just the first pedal assist setting (there are nine levels). If you don’t feel like pedaling, you simply press down on the throttle lever. The brakes are also responsive.

Folding the bike is extremely easy, The pedals (well made with metal interiors) easily fold up, the handlebars fold down, and the bike folds in half with magnets to keep the wheels together.

Here are some of the other things I want to mention that may benefit others buying or considering this bike.

I am 5’1″ and was not able to sit on the seat and have my feet (or toes) touch the ground. However, I solved this problem by putting on a different smaller gel seat with a lower profile mounted on a different (high grade) seat post. It did the trick. I don’t even have to remove the seat when I take out the battery. The original seat tips up to allow for the battery to be removed.

This bike is heavy…I knew that going in. A lot of the weight is from the battery which can easily be removed if you are lifting the bike into a vehicle, etc. After working with it, you get used to the weight.

When we put the battery on the charger we noticed that the charger said it was for 56 V batteries, but the one on this bike is 48 V. I contacted Green Bike and they said the charger was fine and it worked well when the battery was charged overnight…the light turned green and the charger turned off. The battery charger does get a little warm.

When the bike arrived the magnets that hold the tires together when the bike is folded did not meet. One was bent back…I have posted a photo. My husband bend the magnet back into position and it seems to have taken care of the problem.

Also, there was a heavy scratch on the lever that releases the front tire…not sure why…it doesn’t interfere with the working of the lever or the bike.

I would recommend this bike to anyone who would like to have the fun and convenience of an electric bike; however, I don’t think I would recommend this bike to anyone shorter than I am or someone who cannot lift 57 pounds.

I love my bike…I will check in later with more observations as I get to know this bike better.

We’ve had our bikes for two weeks now and really enjoy riding them! We live in San Francisco so the e-bike is a perfect solution for allowing us to bike the hills of SF. We’re impressed with the quality and all the safety/comfort features. The bikes were packed well for shipping and the minor amount of assembly was accomplished with ease.

We had originally ordered the fat tire model but were contacted before shipment and informed of the height requirement. Since my wife and I are both on the shorter size (5’3″ & 5’6″) the fat tire would not fit us. We’re very happy with the regular tire model and appreciate the input before shipping.

Been on it for over 200 miles in first week love it, only issue is battery clanks around a slight bit when riding, I put foam tape between battery and frame to eliminate the rattle.

I bought my bike in June and I commute around Boston 30 miles per day. First when unboxing it was very easy to set up, the bike is not light but it’s transportable for an average person. I used it both in the commuter rail (greenbush line) and in the red line when it was raining and things went well.
I bought it as an alternative to the T in Boston and I’m very glad I did so! The 14 miles commute takes me a very reliable 50 minutes and I charge it once per day with about 20% left on it. The car would take me 60 minutes and the public transit anywhere from 70 to infinity…

Jokes apart I’m a 200lbs tall man 6’4. The pedals are a bit close to the seat but the seat is at the right hight from the ground. I think that I’m technically too tall for the bike but I don’t care, the seating position is incredibly comfortable and the motor is doing 90% of the work. Also the foldability was important to be able to carry in the subway. So would I change it? Only if the 750 came in regular wheels!

The 500W motor is plenty capable going up steep hills i average 10-15mph. Flat 20-23 mph with pedals and that’s reasonable I’m not killing myself here. The horn is a blessing in the city is really loud and effective!

My bike has about 450 miles on it and everything is going well. In the past 2 months I only used the commuter rail twice and it was because of rain. Both times I had the bike with me and everything went well.

All in all I definitely recommend buying.
